Episode 15

The Gun Violence Epidemic in America

Beerocracy! is back! After a month of trying to give the issue of gun violence the time it deserves, I'm happy to finally be able to put out this episode with my wonderful guest from the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

I'm joined by Tanya Schardt, Senior Counsel and Director of State and Federal Policy at the Brady Center to unpack one of America's worst qualities: gun violence. With over 40,000 deaths a year contributed to gun violence in America and the surprising fact that mass shootings only account for 2% of gun related deaths, there is a lot to unpack as to how gun violence has become an unfortunate realty of daily life in America. Listen to us talk about how gun violence has become a public health epidemic, the bad actors at play, and what needs to happen to put a stop to this man-made epidemic.

Emily Gross

Hi! And welcome to my podcast! My name is Emily Gross and I started Beerocracy! to unite my passions of politics and comedy. I love the news and politics, but I got so tired with the stuffy dialogue that plagues the news cycle. So I decided to try something different and create something that I would want to listen to! I interview a leading expert on a current issue in the news cycle, we drink a beer, and hopefully educate you with a little bit of humor!
